Attitude is everything

"Why can't you be in a good mood? How hard is it to decide to be in a good mood and be in a good mood once in a while?"
Lloyd Dobler (John Cusack) - Say Anything

So how hard is it? That is the question at hand. My guess is some days are harder than others. But I think if we make it a habit of getting up in the morning and deciding that today is going to be a good day and that I am going to be in a good mood it would be a lot easier.

So what the heck does this have to do with weight loss? I believe the same principals apply. If I wake up in the morning and decide that today I am going to be on plan and think about what I eat and get some exercise in then chances are it will be a successful day. If I get up and think "I cannot wait to get to goal so I can be done thinking about what I eat" I will certainly fail.

So today and for the days to come I will rise and think about what a good day it is going to be. I will also be thankful for everything I have. Will you do the same?

I don't remember who said it, but the quote was "I wake up and clap my hands and declare 'today will be the best day of my life! But then I leave my bedroom and there is my wife and the kids and the 'to do' list. And the mood goes right into the crapper".

In short... its easy to have a positive attitude when no one bothers you.

I've talked a few times about attitude over at my blog, and even had a post with the same title. I've found having the right attitude crucial to my ultimate success at losing the weight and keeping it off.
