A good couple of days

Thought it might be useful to take a look at the past couple of days.  Both Wednesday and Thursday I have been right on track.  I did not work out Wednesday but that is primarily because I will not take away time with my son on those nights.  I did work out last night and will be back at it tonight.  Food selections have been good and snacking has been minimal.  Tonight I think grilled chicken breast with so grilled veggies and stuff.

I would like to say I am pretty driven right now to make the right choices, but I still find myself making choices that are not great.  In most cases I can get away with it, but in some cases I just need to cut back.  Case in point.  I know that snacks between meals are normal, but I am finding myself looking forward to 10:30 so I can eat my apple and banana and I am not really sure I am hungry.  It is almost as if when I eat it triggers more hunger.  That said I know the snack keep my metabolism rolling and I normally snack on fruit.  At least while I am at work.

So for those of you out there who have lost a considerable amount of weight while on WW, how did you cope with less points?  I guess my point is, I would almost prefer to go ahead and move down in points now rather have a really hard time with it.  I know it is only one point at a time, but it seems like there it could be difficult.

Have a great weekend!

I can't answer the WW question but maybe the snacking one. I agree that you should eat frequently including snacks to keep the metabolism up but maybe you body is craving the sugar in the fruit? Maybe choosing a lower sugar snack, like some protein may help. Just a suggestion from my 3 short months of experience :) Have a great weekend.

Actually the less points really didn't make a big difference. As I lost more, I moved more and got more AP's. I actually eat about the same number of points now as when I started. Maintenance adds a few and exercising helps too.

You'll find ways to scrape a few daily points off though.

Hi Matt,

Isn't it funny how just 1 tiny point, 50 little calories (give or take) can seem so important to us? I know that as my daily points have decreased it's always surprised me just how much I miss them when they're gone. As I say good bye to them one at a time I'm struck by just how difficult it seems to do so...and by just how quickly I get over it.

I know that, for me, I've looked forward to using my points without having a sensation of real hunger as the impetus to do so--but I don't think that's an unusual, or necessarily a bad thing. Let's face it, I didn't eat my way to nearly 400 pounds because I was 'hungry' every time food passed my lips. In fact, I think that some of us are simply built to never have a totally natural relationship with our body and may never instinctually know it's needs. I know that the first time I actually felt real hunger I didn't recognize it for what it was (I thought I might be coming down with something). The truth is that, even though I'm getting better at it, I may never get to a point where I don't eat simply because it's "time" to and I've got points to spend. Furthermore, I'm not sure that's a bad thing. If that is my lot in life, then it is what it is--and I can work that fact into my plans and get on with my life and stop pining for that elusive 'normality' that may never be an option for me.

You'll cope with the loss of your points when the time comes, and after the first time it get's eaiser. Trust the science. The day that I start believing that I can do this without thinking, without tracking, that I have somehow conquered my food issues for good...that's the day I'll start gaining it all back, ounce by ounce.

I'm glad I stumbled on your blog, thanks for the read!

I found that I actually looked forward to losing the points. I always looked to eat the foods that gave me the most "bang for the buck" point-wise in order to avoid as many hunger issues as I could. Most times it worked, but sometimes I just had to deal with being hungry. But I can honestly say that I don't remember ever having to deal with anything close to ravenous hunger when I was losing.

Just remember that sometimes it's normal to be hungry.
