Nervous?

What if I am not at the right place at the right time?   What if I start of to fast and end up having to walk?  What if I sleep through the whole darn race?  And then there is the what if I look like a fool?

But on the flipside, What if I do really well and break my own personal record?  I am just nor sure how I am supposed to feel leading up to my first official 5k.  I am excited and nervous and all of those things combined.  I feel like I am ready.  I have tremendous support from everyone around me.  So I guess that leaves it to me to get through the nerves and do it.

You've already done the hardest part -- you signed up and actually committed to going. The rest is gravy! I once signed up for a mini-triathalon (after being cajoled into it by a coworker). As the weeks passed leading up to the event I completely lost my nerve. I broke the news to my coworker a few weeks before the event, and just didn't show up! You will do amazing, and you will be so proud crossing that finish line. For all of us who still can't get beyond the sign up page, you are truly an inspiration. Good luck!

You will kill it ;). Nothing like the rush of running in a organized race with lots of people for the first time. All us bloggers are electronically rooting for you!!

Matt you will do fine. When I did my first 5K back in January, before the race I was sickly nervous. Wanted to back out, but luckily I didn't.
Dude if we lived closer, I would run it with ya...
It will be one of the most enjoyable things you will ever do.

You will do great! Being around so many other people will help make you break your personal record. I really enjoy running with other people.

Hey Matt. Thanks for the comments on my blog, and yes...I'll take you up on the "it begins Monday" thing. I will get back to tracking and will lay off the potato chip binges! (It is true that you can't eat just one!) Perhaps I need to invest in some locks for the pantry for when the hubs is gone! ; )

GOOD LUCK this weekend...you'll do great! You're a winner just by doing it, you know? I'll be looking forward to seeing how it went.
