Good news and still kinda good news.

So I went to my second meeting last night expecting grand results. I got excellent results, but we will get to that.

When I went in for the first meeting you calculate your points and then that is how you eat. Nothing dramatic about that. So when I calculated my points I came to 51 points. I was stunned. How was I going to consume all those points? Well I went back and looked at the page where you calculate your points. At the bottom in somewhat fine print (but in bold) it says that if you exceed 44 points your daily total is 44 points. DUH! So as I went through the week I was eating at a pace of 50 - 51 points per day. Um that was a mistake. So that is the kinda good news because....

I lost 7 lbs this week. I am so excited. This is working. I am learning to say no thanks to the things that will get me off track and eat more fruits and vegetables. So this leads me to a new level of excitement as I move forward. I lost a pound a day eating more than the recommended points value. So if I cut back by 7 points per day I would expect to see the same if not better results. I think that I will be at my first goal of 375 (which I set for 4-19-08 the Missouri Football Black and Gold Game) next week. I will have to consider a new goal for that date. 350 may be a bit of a stretch but I think it is doable. What the heck. Lets shot for 350 by the Black and Gold Game.

This is a very interesting process. I definitely feel like I have made the correct choice. I considered lap band and possibly even gastric bypass but really that would have limited me to greatly I think. I am happily on a course that will allow me to indulge for an evening but put my nose back to the grindstone the next day. I know there are a few out there looking at this blog and all I can tell you is that I am extremely happy to rid of the 21.8 sack of potatoes that I was carrying around. I already feel a ton better. Oh what is must be like to be 6'3 and 200 lbs. It must be like walking on air. Some day I will walk on air to!
