I am a BL addict.

OK I need to do this.

"Hi my name is Matt and I am a Biggest Loser-aholic"

I generally do not care for reality TV.  I got sucked into Survivor the first year, but I broke free from its grasp.  Biggest Loser however has endured.  I look forward to it as much as I look forward to the Office every week.  I cheer teams and people and I just think it is decent television.

I guess more than anything I feel like it is real people doing something that ultimately is inspiring.  They are taking the steps to become more healthy.  But are they really?  I know they are doctor supervised, but where are they now.  Are they able to keep the weight off?

Oh well regardless I am hooked I will watch and see how they do try to pick up a little tid bit of information from time to time.

On a somewhat related note, I wonder if Weight Watchers sees an increase in membership shortly after Biggest Loser starts?

OK, on to more important stuff, I ran 3.11 miles last night.  Slow and steady.  My left calf is either cramping for 2 days or strained.  It is feeling better this morning so I will be out again tonight, but man it slowed me down.  I suppose the running back to back 5k's could slow a guy down to.

Have a great day everyone!

Some do, some don't I know the winner of season 2, Matt the wrestler has gained most of his weight back.

I love it to. Much better exercising during it, than eating Doritoes and sucking down sodas like I did the first few seasons ;)

Same here on BL. I think everyone of us see ourselves up there. So many are looking to lose weight and change their lifestyle. Losing weight is so damn difficult - The people on the show are "real" people that is what is so appealing.

I love the show too but I don't like the unrealistic expectations it engenders.

I am a huge fan of BL too. However its seems to be over dramatizing things a little too much at times the last two seasons. The product placement is really bad and obvious too. The motivation is definitely there though. They need to do a more solid reunion show to see if people have kept the weight off. That seems to be the real battle, they say over 90% of people put the weight back on. I have done the loose 50 pounds then put it back on thing too. this time around I want that to change, its just too much work loosing the weight to throw it all away.

Anyway I enjoy reading your blog... I stumbled onto it off of craigs site.

Those 5K runs are pretty darn impressive for a big guy. I bet I couldn't run 1/2 mile much less a
5K. What did you do training wise to work up to a 5K run? Pretty inspiring. Keep it up.
